Leslie Marie Whiteman, also known as Lesli Tokar Whiteman passed away at the age of 52 from a pulmonary embolism on 30 June 2024 in Lutz, FL. Lesli is the daughter of artist Paulette Tokar Whiteman, and musician and Air Force pilot William Stark Whiteman and sister to Jami Rene’ Whiteman. Lesli is survived by her mother Paulette, sister Jami and nephew Andrew Gage LeBell. All reside in the New Orleans area.
Lesli was born into a military family in San Bernadino, California on 5 September 1971. Lesli spent much of her time between New Orleans, LA and Germany. Lesli was well traveled throughout the US and Europe. She loved visiting the national parks of the southwestern U.S. Although she lived in Florida, the two homes closest to her heart were New Orleans, LA and Landstuhl, Germany. Lesli was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and would always wear her Saints gear around Landstuhl. She was the biggest “Who Dat” in Deutschland!
Lesli was always a kind hearted woman with a child-like spirit. She was a talented and aspiring writer that had been published in several books and magazines. Lesli was very generous and always wanted to help anyone that needed it. She loved listening to music and dancing. Lesli always made sure that those around her felt special by giving small gifts or having a kind word or compliment to say. There was never such thing as a “Stranger” to Lesli as she was kind and polite to everyone. Lesli had an adventurous spirit as well. She loved to go camping and travel around to see places of beauty and wonder.
Lesli was dear to many and will be missed.
