JP Roper, born into this life on November 11, 1956 to birth mother Louise Parker-Harrison, was adopted at a very early age by Louise and Sylvester Roper, who all preceded him in death. His siblings that also preceded him in death are brothers: Timothy Williams, Thedore Curry and Willie Curry; sister: Marshanna Long.
JP parted from this life on October 5, 2024. He leaves to mourn his death siblings: Romellar Banks of Douglasville, GA, Walter Nelson, Josie Curry, Claire John and Sheila (Clifford) Campbell all of Tampa, FL, and Shirley Jean Curry of Baltimore, MD; Special Nephew Anthony Harrison, Special Niece (Sister) Sheila Roper-King; a host of other nieces and nephews.
JP grew up in Avon Park, FL where he lived the majority of his life. He later moved to Tampa to live with his sister Claire until his death. JP was beloved by all that knew him.
In his latter years, he was surrounded by loving family and we are thankful and grateful for the times and memories we all got to share and make with him. His sisters Claire and Josie were his caregivers and went the extra mile to make his concluding years comfortable.
He was a fighter and battled with cancer until he was succumbed by its grips. He never complained about the pain, but would respond, “I’m alright”, every time he was asked how he was doing.

You definitely left an imprint on us. Your closing hour has come and now you are in a place where the wicked cease from troubling and your weary soul shall be at rest.
