Darlene Flora

In memory of Darlene Flora

1949-2024

Isaiah 57:1-2 (NLT) “Good people pass away, the godly often die before their time, but no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die."

My wife Darlene, a saint and follower of Jesus, is now in heaven. Her body is dead, but her spirit is alive with Jesus and lives on eternally.

My mind has been full of two feelings which alternate: feelings of sorrow and of gratitude. I miss my darling, my beloved Darlene, but am grateful she is free from pain and now in the spirit world. She can dance, jump, sing, and laugh, with the heavenly fellowship of the other saints in the Heavens realm.

I’m grateful to have had a wife, a sweet love, who for over forty years had never given me any grief. A loving sweet wife and mother of two lovely daughters, and stepmother to four daughters and one son. My wife stood with me during many of life’s battles, stood with me in many of our ministries. We served together as chaplains for the truck stop for 25 years and 20 years as elders with the Dr. Morris Cerullo ministries. In her own ministries, she sang and travelled across the country with the Riverhills Church of God choir. She also belonged to the International Society of Poets and travelled with them to read her poetry, winning many honors.

I was honored to have her as my loving wife of 43 years, but death came to her, and she went home to heaven on the 23rd of December at 11PM. Her spirit has a new home. Prior to this she had memory loss and was unable to move for the past two years, except for her right arm. She lost all ability to speak or communicate normally. With all her pains, terrors, and nightmares she lived through, miraculously she was still able to sing softly, in a faint whisper, gospel hymns. She only did this during weekly church services at the nursing home, when I wheeled her down to the community room in her geri-chair. For the last couple years, she was only able to speak a name or two, usually of people long past, but up until the very end she still recognized me was still able to speak one sentence, “I love you Nathan” while reaching for a kiss, and I said, “I love you too.”

Matthew 5:4 (NLT) “God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

Revelation 14:13 (NLT) “…I hear a voice from heaven saying, ‘Write this down: blessed are those who die in the Lord, from now on, yes says the spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them.’"

Psalms 116:15 (KJV) “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of the saints.”

2. Corinthians 5:8 (KJV) "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and be present with the Lord.”

Philippians 1:21 (KJV) “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Colossians 1:5 (KJV) “For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven.”

Love you always, Nathan

I will see you in the stars and feel your love in the wind and rain and when I walk on the grass. You are loved and you are missed.

Love, Kristy

I love you always momma and will miss you forever.

Love, Laura

We are so sorry to hear of Darlene's passing. I can't imagine the poetry she's writing now! I still have the poem she wrote for me, Angelina Ballerina. We will keep you and the family in prayer.
